RSS or Really simple Syndication has particular significance in modern times as it is a mechanism to access information from numerous websites very quickly and efficiently and most of all with the minimum amount of stuff. It enables users to download only the things they require from a website while not even considering the other stuff. This enables time saving in a big way. RSS is an XML format that performs the above functions. It has now become a standard feature in all the websites and its applications are being extended to other facilities like podcasting which transfers multimedia content in the same vein as RSS.
