Description: When you try to connect to Apple TV or File Sharing in iTunes, you may see the message, "Check that any firewall software running on this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689."

This problem can happen if the firewall rule for iTunes is not configured correctly. To fix this problem, delete the firewall rule for iTunes and allow Norton Internet Security to automatically create the firewall access.

Delete and recreate the firewall rule for iTunes

1. Exit iTunes.

2. Start Norton Internet Security.

3. Click Settings.

4. Click Network Settings.

5. Under Smart Firewall, next to Program Control, click Configure.

6. On the Program Control window, in the Program column, locate and click the rule for iTunes.

7. Click Remove.

8. Click Apply.

9. Click Close.

10. Start iTunes.

Norton Internet Security automatically creates a new firewall rule for iTunes.
