Instructions:
Start menu in Vista mode, click Start, then Control Panel.
With the Start menu in Classic mode, click Start, then Settings, then Control Panel.
With Control Panel in Classic view, double-click Phone and Modem Options.
With Control Panel in Vista view, open Hardware and Sound, then Phone and Modem Options.
Click on the Modems tab
Highlight the modem, then click Properties
Click the Diagnostics tab
Then click Query Modem.
The modem is queried.
