Resolution:

1. Go to Start->Control Panel and double click on System.
2. Click the Automatic Updates tab.

3. There are several mutually exclusive options:

   • Automatic (recommended) - This option also has a schedule that allows the user to specify when updates can be installed.
   • Download Updates for me, but let me choose when to install them.
   • Notify me but don't automatically download or install them.
   • Turn off Automatic Updates.
4. Select the desired option and click Apply and OK.
