Resolution:

Automatic/Unrequested reboots in XP.

Many tech's automatically pass this off as a virus/spyware or other such malware issue. It may not be the case. The problem here is that XP's default installation settings is to automatically reboot on critical error, which in turn makes it impossible to get the BSOD info.

What needs to be done is to go to:

Start->Control Panel->[Performance and Maintanence]->System->Advanced->System and Recovery->Settings

Clear the Automatically Restart check box.

This should make it possible to get down to the root problem and avoid some redirects/FFRs that I am sure happen on a daily basis due to automatic rebooting being enabled.
