Information:

I am receiving an error message after installing Spy Sweeper 5.0

Webroot has released a new build to Spy Sweeper 5.0 that should address this issue. If you are not currently running Spy Sweeper 5.0.7 (build 1608) please update your software before following the steps below.

If you receive a message that states that your 'installation is damaged' or lost connection to the Spy Sweeper Engine , please follow the steps below.

1. Please shut down Spy Sweeper (right click the Spy Sweeper tray icon by the clock, then select shutdown.)
   
2. Click start > All programs > Webroot > Spy Sweeper > Uninstall Spy Sweeper. After Un-installing, you will be prompted to re-start your computer, say NO to this message .we will restart later. If for any reason this steps fails, please continue to step 3.
3. Download the zip file ssecleanup , please save this file to your desktop.
4. Once downloaded, open the zipped folder, double click on the folder named 'ssebat', finally, double click on the DoubleClickHere.bat file. You may briefly see a black prompt window, once this window closes please restart your computer.
5. Upon restart, please re-download Spy Sweeper 5.0 .
6. During the installation of Spy Sweeper, the program will ask if you want to do a typical or custom installation, please select custom then click next.
   
7. The screen that appears will ask where you want to install Spy Sweeper. The file path should already say C:\Program Files\Webroot\Spy Sweeper, Webroot recommends leaving this the way it is. Click Next.
   
8. On the screen that appears I want you to uncheck the box that say s Start Spy Sweeper at Windows Startup click next.
   
9. Click install
10. Click finish. Your system should restart at this point.

After your PC has rebooted, please double click the Spy Sweeper icon on your desktop. When Spy Sweeper restarts you should not receive the "installation is damaged" message or the lost connection to the Spy Sweeper Engine message.
