Faulty hardware / Corrupted system settings / Power supply / Thermal issues.

Attempt to boot the system into Normal Mode.

If it fails, try booting the system into Safe Mode. If it boots through, disable the Automatically Reboot Option in Startup and Recovery.

Try running System Restore in Safe Mode.

Run the System File Checker utility (SFC /Scannow).

Disable the applications and services using MSCONFIG and check if the system stops freezing.

Disable any third party device in the Device Manager and try enabling them one by one and check if the system stops freezing.

Enable the bus devices using the Device Manager in Windows XP.

Check the Other Devices listed in the Device Manager, if applicable.

Uninstall and reinstall the device driver, if there is an exclamation or a question mark.
